COG WEBSITE MAKE-OVER

Regular visitors to our Website (of which we know there are many) will soon be surprised to see we have had a massive make-over! Our excellent current design has well stood the test of time, managed as it has been in such an excellent manner by Patrick (Paddy) Clements who plays the horn in the brass section of the COG Orchestra. The website was originally designed by Paddy’s IT-expert son Mark in 2001.

Times move on, and we have been working on an overhaul to give a more 21st century look to the site and to add more uses. New followers will be able to become supporters directly through the website, and make donations, as well as discover upcoming performance and explore our historic performance database.

We have had terrific support from our new designers Olamalu whose work used to include, among others, the web pages for Garsington Opera. 

Meanwhile Paddy deserves to start the retirement from managing our site after his 23 years in the role. He has our very grateful thanks and will continue to play in the Orchestra.

The new Webmaster is Isabella (Izzy) Myers, who is an undergraduate student reading music at King’s College London.  She has been passionate about opera since she started singing lessons aged eleven and music has always been a passion of hers.  Her first opera with the Chelsea Opera Group was Tchaikovsky’s “Oprichnik” and has taken part in almost every concert since.  She has had experience in assisting the marketing and development teams in Arts Development and Marketing at Opera Holland Park, her tasks included updating content on their website, writing social media content, assisting with the filming and creation of the advertisement for upcoming production, “Il Segreto di Susanna”, and interacting with the Company’s online database on “Spektrix”.

She looks forward to meeting many of you when she attends our next event.

We hope you like the new-style website, due to go LIVE by ....... We have been careful to keep the old favourites including the record of previous performances, sortable by date, opera, composer and conductor, as well as introduce new functions. I look forward to hearing your comments.
